Tom Hogeback

Edward Abbey once wrote, "Mountains compliment desert as desert compliments city, as wilderness compliments and completes civilization."

It is fair to say that this thought exemplifies Tom's curiosity and enthusiasm with the camera. For over 30 years, he has sought to bring his viewer this sense of wonder and appreciation of what it is willing to provide. Influenced by Elliot Porter and Edward Weston, he continuously strives to discover new ways to capture those subjects that lead the viewer to that special place of contentment and awe. Rarely without his camera, Tom can be found biking or kayaking unfamiliar places seeking opportunities to capture digitally and on film. When not searching locally he travels to more distant and remote locations searching for those unique landscapes that are accented by distinct lines or contrasting light. His joy is bringing these moments to life at his studio, Village West in Oxford Ohio.
